SH11NA (Shiina) began drawing when he was a child, inspired by the graffiti that lined the streets under the Sakuragicho overpass. In 2008, he was asked by a friend in a death metal band to illustrate a flyer, which prompted him to begin his work as an artist in the underground music scene. In 2013, he was asked by an American musician to create CD artwork and traveled to the United States. From then until 2018, he continued his creative endeavors while traveling around the world. In 2019, he began reusing a closed love hotel in Kagoshima as an atelier. He is currently based in Kagoshima, and participates in mural painting, events, and festivals both in Japan and overseas. He is active in drawing graffiti on the streets of various places.

SH11NA WORKS is an apparel and merchandise brand established by SH11NA in 2016. It is based in the Kagoshima atelier "Satsuma Kaihoku" and is run with the cooperation of a small number of temporary staff and clothing models. Products are shipped within two business days, Monday through Friday. The use of sales revenue is posted on the monthly blog .
